Hon. Gaspard Twagirayezu Inspires Kepler Graduates to Embrace Change and Impact Communities

30 October 2023: This Monday, the Honorable Gaspard Twagirayezu, Minister of Education, joined forces with Kepler to celebrate its 8th graduation ceremony, acknowledging the remarkable accomplishments of 163 graduates who have successfully earned their Kepler-Southern New Hampshire University partnership undergraduate degrees in management, communication, and healthcare management.

In his address, Hon. Gaspard Twagirayezu encouraged the graduates to embrace the ever-changing business landscape, emphasizing the importance of adaptability, innovation, and the utilization of technology as a catalyst for success. He urged them to transcend traditional paths and be open to new possibilities as they venture into the next chapter of their lives.

Hon. Twagirayezu expressed his congratulations to the graduates and shared a profound message, stating, "As you move forward, always remember that the true measure of your success will not merely be in profit margins or market share. It will be in the lives you touch, the communities you uplift, and the poverty you help eradicate."

Furthermore, the Minister of Education added, "As you embark on your professional journey, please remember the virtue of humility. Confidence is crucial, but it must be tempered with humility. Education equips you with knowledge, but your humility allows you to truly understand the needs of your communities."

Kepler, a non-profit organization, collaborates with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) to provide US-accredited Bachelor's degrees, offering students in Africa access to higher education. This marks the eighth graduation ceremony, which included students from both Kepler's Kigali and Kiziba campuses.

Out of the 163 graduates, 54.3% earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management with a concentration in Logistics and Operations, 34.1% received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Business, and 11.6% achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Management with a concentration in Global Perspectives. The graduating class includes 88 women and 75 men, with 57 students holding refugee status, thanks to Kepler's special support and expertise in refugee education.

Since 2013, Kepler has been empowering Africa's underserved youth through its unique blend of in-person, online, and experiential learning. In partnership with Southern New Hampshire University, Kepler has enrolled over 2,500 students across Kigali and the Kiziba refugee camp in Rwanda, positively impacting the lives of 7,400 youths in Rwanda and Ethiopia. Notably, 957 have earned bachelor's degrees, including 237 refugees, under Kepler's guidance.
