MINEDUC RELEASED ADVANCED LEVEL NATIONAL EXAMINATION RESULTS

Kigali, 15 November 2021: The Ministry of Education has today officially announced the National Examination results The Ministry of Education has released the National Examination results for Senior Six in General Education, Level 5 TVET and Level 3 TTC in the ceremony that took place at the Ministry of Education headquarters and live streamed on the Ministry of Education YouTube Channel called Ministry of Education Rwanda to ensure a large audience can follow due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The Minister of Education Dr Valentine Uwamariya who honored the ceremony said that generally students performed well especially TVET and TTC who made a significant progress compared to the previous years.   

“The overall performance of students is great particularly for TVET and TTC showcased a big change compared to the previous year. In general education out of 47,399 who sat for exams, 40,435 (85.3%) passed, in Technical Vocation Education and Training (TVET) Schools 22,523 sat for exams and 21,544 (95.7%) passed while in Teacher Training Colleges (TTC) out of 2,988 who sat for exam 2,980 of them (99.9%) passed.”

Compared to 2019 National Examinations, in General Education the passing rate is this year on 85.3% while in 2019 was 89.50%, in TTC schools the passing rate in 2021 is 99.9 % and at 98.2% in 2019. On the side of TVET 91.2% passed in 2019 and in 2021 National Examination 95.7% of those sat for exams passed.

The first three students in each category General Education, TVET and TTC were given a brand-new laptop as a motivation appreciation for their great victory in National Examinations 2021 and consecutively awarded as follows:

In General Education:

Mugisha Abdulkalim who studied PCM combination at Riviera High School, Umuhuza Gatete Kellia (MPG) and Uwonakunze Anaise Marie Reginald (PCM) both from Gashora Girls Academy.

Technical Vocation Education and Training (TVET):

Migisha Dieu Merci from St Kizito Save TVET School, Twizeyimana Jean Claude from G.S.B.T.R Rwamiko and Ishimwe Shalom from Nyanza TVET School.

Finally in Teacher Training Colleges (TTC), the first three best performers are: Nsengiyumva Theogene from TTC Muhanga; Niyogusa Gervais from TTC Mururu; and Dusabe Robert of TTC Nyamata.  

In her closing remarks, the Minister of State in Charge of ICT and TVET said that the Ministry of Education is grateful for the performance of candidates that did national exams in critical condition of Covid-19.

“It is great that we celebrate the achievement of the previous year performance in National examinations but also urging striving to outstand this milestone in the next National Examinations. We know that the exams were conducted in critical moment of the COVID-19 pandemic, but our students tried their best to make this happen. I remind the new candidates for this year that preparations of National Examinations start ahead of time and you should work tirelessly to outshine the upcoming year. MINEDUC assures you the continuous collaboration and support to ensure quality education is achieved in Rwandan Education Sector.”

The first one is through internet and the second one by using Short Message Service (SMS).

For internet: log on to: results.nesa.gov.rw/.   while here follow instructions.

For SMS: S6 (for Advanced level), followed by the full candidate’s index number to 4891.
